Altermeta - Impacting the Comic World in a subtle manner.
« on: July 03, 2011, 06:00:12 PM »
Hey folks,

I'm just posting this because I remember a few weeks ago, Noben was a bit upset about not having a long lasting story arc, the comic often taking long breaks between updates, and not really being at the top anymore.

Today, I was reading through the Twokinds comic because I've been following that comic as well, but I never actually read the earlier comics and I wanted to do that.

I found a comic page from 2004 that starts off with a very familiar term. Whether the creator of Twokinds adopted this from Noben or not is not something I know, but regardless, this was posted in Twokinds in 2004 and on Altermeta in 2003.

(Note: The theme of the first panel in the Twokinds comic could count as NSFW because of the implied theme, but it's not actually happening):

Read what it says at the very top left of the first panel.

Top left of the second (middle) panel.

Lol! I remember this but I thought that the "-o-Vision" is some kind of a common joke or expression in the U.S.

I've been reading TwoKinds for a short while, shorter than I wish, but it is an amazing comic. Though I don't know if this actually is a subtle nod to Altermeta, but it'd be sweet if it was.

While it would be nice, AM is just a drop in the bucket.  I don't think it's made any impact at all.  AM is something that's usually either loved by very few, dismissed by most or vehemently hated for one tiny aspect that doesn't define it.  It's interesting, since I've read a lot of responses to AM, like when a fan plugs it in places.  Folks tend to change the subject to talk about what they'd rather like and all subsequent responses ignores AM and talks about the other things that were liked.

Like it's author, AM slips under the radar even among it's peers.  Its my special mutant power.

Well, eff all those people who don't know what they're talking about. AM is awesome, Noben, and don't let anyone tell you different.
