Here's a new one that I've discovered. They're called BabyMETAL and they combine J-Pop and thrash/death metal with some pretty good, if somewhat ridiculous, results. I've enjoyed what I've listened to so far.

Sorry about the thread revival, but...

I just saw King 810, Korn, and Slipknot on Tuesday. Hell of a show. I was about twenty feet right out in front of one of the guitarists (Mick; I could see the whites of his eyes).

For those who liked the first two albums, but not the third and/or fourth, good news: the new song that gets a lot of radio play lately is probably the only one that may be one the radio. It's as if they took everything that was great about the first two and went nuts with it.

So if they're coming to your area and you have the money, get a ticket.

Alkarii, if you can add to a thread in some way, don't feel bad about reviving one. Which band are you referring to? Slipknot?

Here's a killer progressive metal band out of Australia called Voyager. This is the first single from their latest album V, called Hyperventalating.

I was there primarily to see Slipknot. A lot of people complained that Vol. 3 and All Hope Is Gone weren't as good, but .5: the Gray Chapter didn't disappoint. There are some songs on it that I don't like as much as some of the others, but they're still good songs. It was great that the tour had just started a couple weeks ago, so Corey Taylor's voice wasn't worn out.  Between songs, he apologized because they hadn't been here since '09, but he promised they wouldn't make us wait another five years to see them again.

Hey guys, found two progressive metal bands to check out. Both are out of Australia.

The first is Arcane. This stuff can get seriously dense and layered, and I love it! It's amazing. They have two albums out right now, Chronicles Of A waking Dream and Known/Learned.

This is Instinct from Known/Learned: http://youtu.be/l9nADKsSly4
This is The Seer from Chronicles: http://youtu.be/fT9vvRstg-g

Then we have Caligula's Horse. Their style is more djent based, but still complex. They have the same singer as Arcane. They have two albums out as well, Moments From Ephemeral City and The Tide, The Thief, & The River's End.

Here is Dark Hair Down from The Tide, The Thief, & The River's End: http://youtu.be/NRzhYqvSvkw

I highly recommend both of these bands!
Risha and Jay Chan? Yeah, I ship'em.

...AND NO ONE HAS MENTIONED KORN?!

Go listen to Korn if you don't already listen to them. Damn I love their old stuff. Their old stuff is super fucking heavy and dark. Newer stuff is Nu Metal.
