Any man who can hitch the length and breadth of the galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through, and still know where his towel is, is clearly a man to be reckoned with.

I remember first reading this in....grade 9 I think. My friend Peter lent me the series, which he had in a single book with the words "A Four Part Trilogy", or something like that, on the spine. First time reading that kind of book. I loved it. Sadly I think I've grown out of it. I received the 5-book series as a gift much later and couldn't find the same pleasure of reading it the way I had years ago.

But I did take the part about towels to heart. It just makes it all the funnier because a towel really is quite useful :)

(hint: you're going to want to bring water with you on many kinds of trips. wrap your water bottle in the towel to insulate it and keep it cold for hours and hours. after it's outgrown it's usefulness there, it's great for soaking in water and cooling your forehead, or if it's cold, stuffing into your jacket for a bit of bonus insulation. don't wipe your sweat off you unless it's impeding your vision or you need to towel off before entering a 'respectable' establishment. sweat helps keep you cool)

I have many...

"Errare Humanum est."
"Que sera sera."
"C'est la vie."
"Don't let school interfere with your education."
"What is all we see or seem, but a dream within a dream?"

I'd just like to say that I'm taking Latin three at university and I read your first quote without a dictionary. I know it's not much, but color me proud.

Just stumbled on this delightful little trick.

Won't Isn't Can't

Even uncontracted, it only earns further charm.

Will Not Is Not Can Not.

Oh, wonderful! <3

Heh...the writer has talent. Or lucky coincidence.

You are a tiresome mortal.

Said the undying to the dying light. Or taken another way, the irony that one who never dies grows tired of one who does/dies.
