Bane of Void
« on: March 06, 2015, 06:45:37 PM »
I love questions,
both asking and answering...

I also believe the concept of knowledge itself is an illusion,
so I especially enjoy confronting ideas or issues that I am ignorant about!

To that end; I would like to invite people to ask me any question they desire
and I intend to answer each one to the best of my ability...

Even if that answer requires my admitting I don't know!

As an additional twist, you could also ask one or more of my personas questions
which I will try to reply In Character-ly.

Just add an "@" followed by which of my characters you are asking.

Let the wild rumpus begin~!!!

P.S.
If this starts becoming too "adult" the thread will likely be moved to the Red Light District.

Where are you live?

Vague Question = Vague Answer

Presumably on a planet,
although the name seems to be debatable;
Earth, Terra, Gaia, and more have been used.

To be more specific:
On a humid subtropical peninsula about 30 meters above sea level.

What's the tunneling speed of a burrowing swallow?

Specific Question = Specific Answer

While there are too many variables to give an exact speed,
I would guess about 3-5 inches per minute when dealing with topsoil to make a nest.

Who is John Galt?

Obscure Question = Obscure Answer

A person with that name.

What timezone/nation/city you live in?

Romeo/Gator/Hoggetowne

I am curious why this is of such importance.

Would the humid subtropical peninsula on which you live happen to called Florida? If not, is it at least part of the geopolitical region of Earth/Terra/Gaia known as the United States of America?
Yes, we are going to fight back. But not here, not now, not in the Colonies. Not even in this star system. Let the word go forth to every man, woman and child who survived this holocaust. Tell them to set sail at once in every assorted vehicle that will carry them.

That is correct!

Within the military timezone of Romeo,
Known as the "Gator Nation"
And originally called "Hoggetowne"!

Hoggetowne can only refer to Gainesville, correct?

No, it can refer to several places.

But Gainesville Florida is the home of The Gators Football Team.

Either way, that puts you quite a ways away from Tango/Bronco/Union Colony.

My opinion is that it is up to the person defining the terms.

A good chunk of science is what to name things
and they are constantly redefining those terms,
especially in astronomy!

To try and argue planets vs planetoids
is kind of like arguing the color Red vs Scarlet;
it lacks objectivity.

Also: "Pluto" was the Roman equivalent to the Greek god "Hades"...
Who was a judge, not an executioner.
