[Known Bugs]

  • Forum: Not all features work on non-default themes.
  • Forum: Mods and admins have a theme quirk on boards with the topic solved mod enabled.  Not too bad, so I'm not fixing it at the moment. (just pushes something a line down)

[To-Do List]

  • Nothing to do yet.

All comic links in the Wiki are not linking to the archived "old comics" but rather to non-existant pages.

eg. Link in wiki: http://altermeta.net/archive.php?comic=14
Actual link: http://altermeta.net/oldarchive/archive.php?comic=14

That is all.

I don't maintain the wiki.  Feel free to update anything you want there yourself :)
That's just too big of a job for me alone.

I tried to correct it {shortly after realising it's a wiki} but got a syntax error, even though I only edited a URL. Will keep trying.

---

Yep, keep getting this error:
Quote
A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was:

    (SQL query hidden)

from within function "SearchUpdate::doUpdate". MySQL returned error "1016: Can't open file: 'amsearchindex.MYI' (errno: 145) (localhost)".

I actually didn't {since I didn't know you needed an account to edit wiki}.

However, now I have made an account and successful edited a few pages... exept I still get the same error message. The page is changed when I back into the wiki and find it again. Also, the "search" box seems to yield the same/simlar error.

I'll look into it, and I did make all pages protected by default to avoid any spam bots that come through (they screw up the entire site)

Was there a reason for the change? Or was it always planned and PUNBB was a stepping stone?

A couple things:

-What's the deal with the MODs? Are we all Global Mods now or are there going to be groups  set up for individual forums?

-I don't know of there is a setting for this, but having out 'real' name displayed instead of out account name is rather confusing. If there isn't a setting for this, would it be possible to do a little SQL script to change every one's name to be their account name? That would be really simple.

-I'm also missing the old styles. Is there any change they may be coming back? If you're planning on this and you need help with the template conversions, let me know.

With the few minutes I've been playing around, I do like the new software.

the moderators will back in groups once I get the time

the real name was just an artifact of the conversion to SMF, you can change the display name yourself if you wish, I don't have the time to do it myself.

There will eventually be a style to match the original site, though it'll take a few months to complete on my schedual.  Any help I could get will be greatly appreciated.  I can give you the style I'm basing it off of if you wish.

As far as why SMF was chosen?

Relatively easy to make new styles
VERY customizable
Free
Code is up to date and stable
easy to keep up to date
Excellent permissions system
has a PunBB database converter

Why I didn't stay with PunBB?

Too many permissions bugs, I wasn't able to keep it up do date.

Good reasons for updating =P

Sure I'll help with working on the themes. You can either email me the files or send me a link to where I can grab them.

I'll probably end up downloading the source code so I can study it as well (First and foremost so I can get implementation ideas to improve my own PHP web projects). When I look at the DataBase stuff, I can write up a small SQL script that will reset the names automatically. If that is something you want.

nah, the SQL script won't be needed (all I need to do is clear out the display name bit)

anyway, if you download the source, I'm going to be basing the template off of the YaBB Classic template (though I haven't started, feel free to look through templates until you find one you like)

Okay, clearing out the display name didn't work <.<;;;;

Uhm... people can change it themselves.  It isn't that difficult.
