The new setting is fantasy steampunk, sort of like Final Fantasy, but with less existential time-traveling and incomprehensible dialogue. :) I can't be too specific, but I can recommend the following animes and games as good viewing material for knowing what the new series will be like:

- Full Metal Alchemist
- The Amazing Screw-On Head
- Howl's Moving Castle
- Final Fantasy III (Japan)
- Nausicaa: Valley of the Wind
- Cowboy Beebop

All very good stuff.. I just hope Caz can pull it off and make it just as good as the old ones.
Commiting one's own lifeblood to an act not only proves one's dedication, But one's love.

A.) Yes, very Japan.  Not anywhere else, yet, aside from (last I checked) a mistranslated ROM.  USA version for DS soon, though.
B.) It isn't existentialist if it's just an observation on how the universe is structured, rather than why it was structured that way for a greater and very abstract purpose.  FF IV and FF VI could probably be added to the list.  I'm not so sure about FF IX though...

Oh, and should we be looking for Canas to make an appearance?

And in PR-speek, that just means: "Yes, they are, and they're going to be a HUGE part of it!"

:P

Seriously, I know nothing about the new storyline except that it'll be "different" than the old one.  I only deal with site stuff.  That is my disclaimer.

Pretty disappointed about Jo. not being in the new series.

But other than that this whole thing might be a great change. More girls, More boys, More ACTION XD

Altermeta, influenced by FullMetal Alchemist and Howl's Moving Castle?  Dang, I want in NAOW.

*waits patiently in front of the Comic Theater, behind a satin guard rail thingy like at the really posh theaters*
I think I turned into myself this morning. But I'm not sure. I certainly don't feel any different.

Ooooh, shiney!
I cant wait to see it!
Will we see any of the other races? I know they were mentioned in the world notes of the last comic. Oh, and are the kuvvie racial scale color rules changed since the origional or are they still the same too?

I'll certainly try! I'm glad everyone's enjoyed my little Q&A session thus far...so many responses! I just hope you guys like what Caz has done. I know I did. :)

That's a definite yes.

Interesting question. I asked Caz about this myself, and this was the exerpt:

Flynn: "So, Kuvvie scales can be pretty much any color of the rainbow?"

Caz: "Yep...except black."

Flynn: "Right, no black...because it's an absence of color?"

Caz: "Something like that. Let's just say it's a bad thing."

Flynn: "What about their fronts?"

Caz: "Usually either sandy or fleshtone, but sometimes it's a lighter shade of their scale color, like when the first option would clash."

Flynn: "Fleshtone doesn't go well with, say, white or purple, does it?"

Caz: "No, it doesn't."
